Igloos: houses made of snow
Made of hard packed snow, Inuit use tools like saws, knives and their hands to form the blocks and put together the igloo.
They create overhangs for water to drip off and light can can be seen through the cracks of the snow blocks, where the snow is thin.
Tupiq: tents made of animal skin
Made of animal skin and rope, the Inuit make tents for summer protection. Tupiqs are rarely used now as there are houses and electricity.
